The Nineties iconic group Fastball, made Berkeley Ca’s Cornerstone, the first stop on their latest tour. This is the second tour this year for the band in support of their sixth studio album, “Step into The Light”. Now almost two decades later, Fastball is back and showing fans that they are still a power threesome.
This Austin Texas formed band is best known for their Platinum selling second album, “All the Pain Money Can Buy”, which brought Fastball to music stardom in 1998. Their song ”The Way” from the album, stayed on the Billboard top five for seven weeks and got them two Grammy nominations.
The latest album, Step Into The Light, which is said, took the band only under two weeks to record, has been the band’s first endeavor back into the mainstream music scene since their last album, “Little White Lies”, which released in 2009.
Fastball, still consisting of its original members: Tony Scalzo (Singer/Songwriter/Guitar), Miles Zuniga (Bass/Vocals/Keys), and Joey Shuffield (Drums), gave us a great performance, playing so many favorites from their long standing catalog. Tony’s vocals still as sincere as they always have been, bringing the fans back to one of the best times in music history, during the nineties when original music was the norm, the scene turned upside-down with the sheer newness of what we were all experiencing, and Fastball was there as we were… and they haven’t left.
