Grateful Dead Lightning Round with David Gans

One of the foremost authorities on everything Grateful Dead is David Gans who is a musician, author, radio host, and producer of several dead-related boxed sets and compilations.

David created the nationally syndicated radio show “Grateful Dead Hour” and was host for decades. You can hear the show locally on KPFA FM 94.1 or at KPFA.org on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 pm. When David was offered a second hour for his show he changed the name of the KPFA program to “Dead to the World.” Tim Lynch began co-hosting the program in 2000 and took over as primary host in 2015. David continues to produce the annual “Grateful Dead Marathon” on KPFA and sits in occasionally on “Dead to the World.”

BAMmagazine.com caught David on a break during one of his “Grateful Dead Marathons” at KPFA a couple of years back and we produced this “David Gans Lightning Round” video interview. It was produced for BAMmagazine.com by Karen Alvarez. We hope you enjoy it.
