Juliette and the Licks’ recent stop at Berkeley’s Cornerstone was a night of unsurpassed showmanship and all around good vibes.  The band hit the stage like a tidal wave, and left a lasting buzz of awe in their wake.  During this impromptu three date mini-tour, the band gave us a night of raw musical passion while fearlessly performing their asses off.   If you were there, you were one of the lucky ones to catch this amazing and rare show.

Juliette Lewis, who is best known for her screen work (since we all know her acting career), has had a career filled with stellar performances, but not many know, Lewis has also been an accomplished singer since the band known as Juliette and the Licks first was formed in 2003.  The band released their initial EP, “Like a Bolt of Lightning”, in 2004, which was then shortly followed by their debut album, “You’re Speaking My Language”.  That album’s title track also became their most successful single to date.

The band released its second album, “Four on the Floor”, in 2006, including the single, “Hot Kiss”, which became one of its most talked about and successful hits.  With those two albums under its belt, the band went on to be asked to guest appear, and subsequently toured, with notable artists such as Foo Fighters, Chris Cornell and Muse.  Juliette and the Licks continued to build an audience over the following years, creating  a loyal and ever-growing fan base.  The band broke up a few years later in 2009 and Lewis went on to start a new music project.  To the delight of both old and new fans, in the spring of 2018, band members announced on Twitter that they were in the studio working on new music and Juliette and the Licks was back!

Juliette and the Licks came in, claimed the stage and took hold of all our senses until the very last note.  If you ever have the opportunity to catch this band in person, go!
