2020 BAMMIES Battle of the Band’s

The main goals of the BAMMIES MUSIC FOUNDATION are to bring back the “San Francisco Bay Area Music Awards- The BAMMIES” in a significant and meaningful way and to provide music education, of all kinds, to San Francisco Bay Area high school and college age people who are interested in learning the art and business of making music.

We want to hand the BAMMIES off to the next generation!

The BAMMIES MUSIC FOUNDATION announces the creation of the “2020 BAMMIES BATTLE OF THE BANDS!” (BBOB) contest!

Here’s how it will work:

BAM has a current list of over 350 San Francisco Bay Area high schools and colleges in the ten counties of the Bay Area! We’ll be reaching out to the principals and music teachers at all these schools to have their own local “Battle of the Bands Contest” at their school’s locations.
Bay Area Bands consisting of three or more members that are interested in entering the BBOB are invited to do so by going to www.BAMmagazine.com.

We will be accepting entries electronically from all Bay Area bands in the 14 to 24-year-old age group that live in one of the nine counties of the Bay Area.

Ten semi-finalist bands in the “2020 BAMMIES BATTLE OF THE BANDS!” contest will be determined by members of the BAMMIES MUSIC FOUNDATION, (www.BammiesMusicFoundation.org.) These ten bands will be invited to play at San Francisco’s prestigious new “MIDWAY” music venue for the semi-finals on Thursday, May 21, 2020 and the winning band will be invited to play at the MIDWAY at the 2020 BAMMIES on Saturday September 5, 2020.

In addition to performing at the 2020 BAMMIES, the Grand Prize winning band of the 2020 BBOB will receive a three night stay and rehearsal time at San Francisco’s new music hotel- “Music City!” They will also be awarded with a three-song recording session for a band demo produced by famous music producer Narada Michael Walden, (Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and many others) plus other valuable prizes TBA!

The BAMMIES MUSIC FOUNDATION is a recognized California State 501 c3 tax-deductible non-profit organization that was formalized after the “BAMMIES REUNION CONCERT” in March of 2018.
Entrants to the BAMMIES BATTLE OF THE BANDS contest can see the complete set of rules and the official entry form by going to www.BamMagazine.com. There is a non-refundable $50.00 entry fee for each entry that will be used for the production of the “2020 BAMMIES BATTLE OF THE BANDS!” semi-finals and other production costs.
