Here’s the skinny: BAM was asked to help judge the 49ers National Anthem Singing Auditions, and of course, our answer was a quick "yes!" We asked if we could get the word out to BAM’s audience of thousands of Bay Area Music people, and their answer was also a quick yes.

Now, if you are a serious singer who knows all the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner," here’s what you do. Submit your application online by going to http://blog.49ers.com/2012/05/29/49ers-anthem-auditions. The idea is to showcase local talent, so the audition is open to current or former Northern California residents only. To be considered, you’ll need to submit a video of your national anthem performance and a 5"x7" head shot of yourself. You can do all of this online. But don’t forget, the deadline is coming up quick – Friday, June 22.

Finalists will be announced on July 13. If you are selected as a finalist, you’ll be required to perform at a live audition on Monday, July 21, 1-4pm, in the Celebration Plaza of California’s Great America in Santa Clara.

If you are a winner at the live audition, you’ll get the opportunity to perform at one of the 49ers’ 2012 home games.

It’s not every day that you get an opportunity like this, but you’d better do it quick! BAM wants you to be the one selected to sing at a 49ers game this season, so go for it!
